ST. PETERSBURG, Jun 1 (PRIME) -- A new owner of U.S. professional social network LinkedIn, Microsoft, could make a decision on resuming the service’s activities in Russia in September–November, head of the Russian communications service Alexander Zharov told reporters on Thursday.
“We have no relations with LinkedIn so far. They told us in an official letter that they cannot respect the law in the nearest time,” Zharov said on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.
“As far as I know, all organizational issues will be settled by autumn. And then, probably, LinkedIn’s new owner will make a final decision to get localized in Russia or not.”
Microsoft closed the deal on the purchase of LinkedIn in December 2016.
Russia blocked the network in November 2016 for disobeying to store personal data of its citizens on the country’s territory under the law.
